Ajman records 37% surge in new business licenses in first half of 2025, along with an increase in investor participation.
Ajman, 11th September, 2025 (WAM) – The Department of Economic Development UAE reported a 37% rise in the number of professional licenses in Ajman during H1 2025, highlighting the UAE’s rising attractiveness for foreign and local investors and strong economy.
According to the Ajman Competitiveness Office, there’s a 24% increase in new licenses during the first half of 2025, which includes a 9% growth in commercial licenses and an 11% rise in industrial ones. License renewals also climbed 8% year-on-year, with professional renewals rising 8% and commercial and industrial both up 9%.
Ajman’s Growing Business Sector
The number of new investors in Ajman is 24% more than in the same period in 2024, driving an 8% rise in active licenses since the start of 2025.
Ajman also achieved a remarkable milestone when Ethiopia and Sudan entered the top ten nationalities of license holders for the first time. The development reflects the emirate’s diverse and growing global investor base.
Saif Ahmed Al-Suwaidi, Director General of the DED, affirmed that the latest developments highlight Ajman’s progress in establishing itself as a preferred destination for entrepreneurship and investment. He also mentioned that the business-friendly policies and simplified procedures have played a key role in attracting investors to the UAE.
